Some academies on Try A Martial Art carry a Verified School badge. It means the academy's owner has passed a background check through our Academy Check program within the last 12 months.
What the badge tells you
- The academy owner applied for Academy Check and passed a background check.
- The check was completed within the last 12 months. Academies renew it to keep the badge.
- It's one more thing to weigh when choosing where to train, alongside visiting the school and trying a class.
The badge is about the owner's background check. It isn't a review of instruction quality or of every staff member, so still visit, ask questions, and trust your own impression of the school.
Finding verified academies
Look for the Verified School badge on an academy's listing when you search. The Academy Check page on tryamartialart.com explains how verification works.
For academy owners
